Geraldine Chriscoe

Geraldine Burris Chriscoe, age 80, of 2246 NC Highway 705, Seagrove died Saturday, May 21, 2011 at Randolph Hospice House, Asheboro. A native of Randolph County, Mrs. Chriscoe had retired as a teacher's assistant at Seagrove Elementary School. Her love for children carried forward in her work in her church, Union Grove Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school for many years. She also baby sat for many children at her home. A graduate of Asheboro High School, she later earned a diploma in Early Childhood Development from Randolph Community College. She was preceded in death by her husband, Colwell Chriscoe, her son-in-law Kenneth Hussey, her sister Trulie Rich, and four brothers, Houston, George, Craig, and David Jr. She is survived by one daughter: Gina Chriscoe Hussey of Seagrove, NC, one son: Tony Alan Chriscoe, grandson, Brandon Hussey of Seagrove, NC; granddaughter and her husband Emily Hussey Garner and Daniel Garner; one sister and her husband Polly and Pete Newton of Trinity, NC and one brother and his wife, Rayvon and Phyllis Burris of Chesapeake Beach, MD, and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Monday, May 23rd from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. The funeral will be Tuesday, May 24th at 2:00 PM at Union Grove Baptist Church, 7912 Union Grove Church Road, Seagrove with Rev. Ron Chaney officiating.
