He was an agent of the propane distribution business with Exxon and operator of an Exxon Service Center for 20 years. Following 20 years of service with Klopman and Burlington Transportation, he retired in 1994 due to health issues.
Gerald loved God, his family, his country, babies and small children.
He studied the Bible in his own quiet way. He enjoyed his Sunday School class with Tommy Ward's excellent teaching of God's word, and the fellowship of the wonderful members.
Gerald was an avid reader, seldom found without a book at home or away. He also enjoyed golf, camping and traveling.
As mentioned previously, Gerald loved small children and had a real problem with child abuse. His own grandchildren were so precious to him and he often told us that he experienced his greatest joy when he saw his family happy. This brought more happiness to him than any possessions ever could.
