Gerald Barrett

Thomas Gerald Barrett, age 75, of 1937 Scaley Bark Lane, Asheboro died Friday, May 23, 2008 at Randolph Hospital, Asheboro. Funeral services will be held Monday, May 26, 2008 at 11:00 am at Pugh Funeral Home Chapel, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro with Rev. Fran Adams officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard. Mr. Barrett was a native of Boyle, MS and a 1956 graduate of Ole Miss. He was an Army veteran that served during the Korean Conflict. He retired after 38 years of service as general foreman with Eveready Battery. Mr. Barrett was an avid golfer and attended Calvary United Methodist Church. Mr. Barrett was preceded in death by a son, Lewis Kelly Barrett. He was a great father and good friend who loved as he was loved. He is survived by his wife, Jocelyn Jo Barrett; daughter, Kathy Barrett of Tallahassee, FL, son, Kit Barrett of Panama City, FL, daughter, Kay Mull and husband Steve of Leesburg, GA, son, Kurt Barrett and wife Lori of Salado, TX, son, Kyle Barrett and wife Meg of Middletown, RI, daughter, Keri Peko and husband Miguel of Chesapeake, VA, daughter, Krissy Vail and husband Jason of Asheboro, NC, daughter, Amy Berwick and husband Bruce of Raleigh, NC; grandchildren, Morgan, Kristofer, Jeremy, Taylor, Chad, Parker, Drew, Sam, Connor, Craig, Brenna, Alyssa, Abbi-Elise and Tyler; great grandchild, Dylan; brother, Paul Barrett of Vicksburg, MS, sister, Althea Ann Murphy of Vicksburg, MS; brothers and sisters-in-law, Lloyd and Tonita Bulla and Hugh and Kathleen Brabham all of Asheboro, NC and mother-in-law Mabel Brabham of Asheboro, NC.. The family will receive friends Sunday, May 25, 2008 from 6 - 8 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC.
