George Marshall McIntyre

George "Joe" Marshall McIntyre, age 67, of 543 Valley View Church Rd., Mt. Gilead died Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at his home. Mr. McIntyre was born January 19, 1944 in Ellerbe, NC the son of William Clayburn and Mary Dolly King McIntyre. George worked 15 years for Flav-O-Rich Dairy of Troy and then owned and operated the 109 Body Shop. He attended Blackwood Chapel Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, James McIntyre and Ray McIntyre. He is survived by his wife of 48 years: Joyce Blake McIntyre of the home; one son: Todd McIntyre of Winston- Salem; two sisters: Lois "Punk" M. Scott of Ellerbe, Faye "Sissy" M. Warner of Rockingham; two brothers: William "Toot" McIntyre and Richard McIntyre, both of Rockingham. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:30 - 8:30 pm at Pugh-Troy Funeral Home, 211 North Main Street, Troy; other times at the home. The funeral will be Thursday at 11:00 am at Blackwood Chapel Baptist Church, 671 Pekin Road, Candor with Richard Culyer officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
