George W. Linebarrier, age 73 of Asheboro went home to be with his LORD on January 21, 2012, after a long illness at his home.
He was a faithful and loving husband, father and grandfather. George was a faithful member of Christian Fellowship Church, he loved the LORD and loved to sing. He was a licensed electrician and had worked hard at Vick Electric, City of Asheboro and retired from Color Chip of NC. He was a veteran of the US Navy.
A native of Rowan County, he had lived most of his life in Asheboro and was the son of the late Wade V. Linebarrier and Lillie Linebarrier, he was also preceded in death by three sisters: Audrey Vanderburg, Becky Farlow and Gail Karahawa.
George is survived by his wife of 54 years, Loretta B. Linebarrier; two sons: Wade V. Linebarrier and his wife, Pam and Christopher J. Linebarrier and his wife, Teresa all of Asheboro, a granddaughter: Natalie N. Linebarrier of the home who was also his caretaker, In addition he is survived by five grandchildren: Christie Robbins of Randleman, Dillon Linebarrier, Bailey Linebarrier, Adam Linebarrier and Tristan Dalton all of Asheboro; two great grandchildren: Katlyn and Molly Robbins both of Randleman and two brothers: Bill Linebarrier of Asheboro and Paul Linebarrier of Liberty.
The family will receive friends Monday, January 23, 2012 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Freedom Life Church, 116 Sunrise Ave., Asheboro with Rev. Kenny Greenway, Rev. David Hunt and Rev. Ben Chavis officiating. Burial will follow at New Hope Memorial Gardens, Asheboro with military honors provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard.
