George Penn Lamb, age 82, of Randleman died Thursday, December 30, 2010 at Randolph Hospital, Asheboro.
Mr. Lamb was born October 30, 1928 in Randolph County, the son of John Penn and Cora Richardson Lamb.
Mr. Lamb was a native of Randolph County and attended First Pentecostal Holiness Church in High Point. He was formerly employed as a contractor with Lamb Construction Company. George was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother and quoted as being "The greatest man I've ever known."
He is survived by his wife: Mary Alice Dalton Lamb, three daughters: Becky Furr of Asheboro, Melinda Bulla of Randleman, Robin Carter of Randleman, close nephew, Paul "Sonny" Dalton of Asheboro, 8 grandchildren; Darren Johnson, Lisa Hudspeth, Christopher Knox, April Bulla, Kevin Bulla, Brandon Carter, Alaina Allred and Tyler Carter; 14 great grandchildren, Devin Smithwick, Justin Knox, Justina Knox, Jaylen Knox, Kaila Bulla, Andrew Bulla, Alyssa Bulla, , Zachary Bulla, Jacob Bulla, Austin Bulla, Caleb Hudspeth, Derek Hudspeth, Matthew Johnson and Emily Johnson; 1 great great grandchild; Namirra; two brothers: John Lamb of Randleman and Frank Lamb of Seagrove, three sisters: Evelyn Thornton of Thomasville, Jewel Stetler of IN, Bonnie Smith of Harrisburg, PA.
The family will receive friends Sunday, January 2, 2011 from 6:00-8:30 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 South Main Street, Randleman, NC.
Funeral services will be held Monday, January 3, 2011 at 2:00 PM at First Pentecostal Holiness Church, 100 Kenliworth Drive, High Point with Pastor Grover Jarrell and Pastor Judy Jarrell officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro.
