George A. Dunn

George A. Dunn, age 73, of the Black Ankle Community died Friday, November 11, 2011 at his home. Mr. Dunn was born January 14, 1938 in Montgomery County, the son of Jess and Minnie Dunn. Mr. Dunn was a native of Montgomery County and a veteran of the US Army. He retired from NCDOT as a heavy equipment operator. George was preceded in death by his wife: Peggy Kearns Dunn, step daughter: Sue Bullard, his parents and brothers: Bo, Sam, Frank, Charlie and Walter, sisters: Jessie Allen, Nola Chriscoe and Canary Ham. He is survived by two stepdaughters: Cindy Parsons of Conway, SC and Dawn Callicutt of Jamestown, NC; two stepsons: Wayne Callicutt of Pisgah, NC and Roger Callicutt of Asheboro, NC and numerous step grandchildren, nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Sunday, November 13, 2011 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. Funeral Service will be held Monday, November 14, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home Chapel, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro with Rev. Tim Beck officiating. Burial will follow at Big Oak Church of God Cemetery with the Randolph County Honor Guard providing military honors.
