George Silas Deese

George Silas Deese, age 69, of Sophia died Saturday, February 21, 2009 at GrayBrier Nursing and Retirement Center, Trinity. Mr. Deese was a native of Randolph County and a retired truck driver. He was a US Army veteran and a member of Whitehall Evangelical Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Deborah D. Eck, and his parents, James and Rosa Deese. He is survived by his wife: Hilda F. Deese and son: Todd Deese of Sophia, sister: Ann Mabe of Sophia; brothers: Leroy Deese of Trinity, NC; and Roger Deese of Level Cross, grandchildren: Ian Shane Deese of Rock Hill, SC; Kelly Lynn Hill of Southern Pines, NC; great grandchildren: Chloe and Morgan Hill of Southern Pines NC. The funeral will be Tuesday February 24, 2009 at 2:00 at Whitehall Evangelical Methodist Church, 3335 Wesleyan Rd., Randleman with Rev. Aaron Robins and Rev. Billy Myers officiating. Burial with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard will follow at Randolph Memorial Park.
