George Richard Daggett

George Richard Daggett, age 82, of 338 Foxfire Rd., Asheboro died Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at Randolph Hospital. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2011 at 12:00 noon at Randolph Memorial Park with Jackie Landon officiating and with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard. Mr. Daggett was a native of New Haven, CT and was retired from the U.S. Navy. He was a member and former treasurer of the Disabled American Veterans Ernest McAlister Chapter 38. George was an accomplished craftsman known for his Victorian Woodcraft. He was preceded in death by his son Bart Daggett. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Faye Rene Landon Daggett, daughters, Anna Hollers of Candor, NC, Cynthia Byrd of Asheboro, NC; son, Landon Grimsley of Troy, NC; grandchildren, Chad Byrd of Asheboro, NC, David Byrd of Asheboro, NC, Kendall Jones of Hendersonville, NC, Jody Warner of Star, NC, Megan Grimsley Smith of Chapel Hill, NC; great grandchildren, Payton Byrd, Lillie Jones, Stella Jane Jones, Isaiah Warner, and Eli Warner; and sister, Eunice Daggett of Skaneateles, NY. The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 25, 2011 from 10:00-11:30 AM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC.
