Gayle Toomes Millikan

LEVEL CROSS; Annie Gayle Toomes Millikan, age 86, of Level Cross passed away Friday, February 19, 2016 at Randolph Hospice House, Asheboro. Mrs. Millikan was born February 19, 1930 the daughter of Robert Vernon and Mary Alvetta (Allie) Hodgin Toomes. Gayle was a native of Randolph County and a homemaker. She was a member of the Level Cross United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, Gayle is preceded in death by her husband: Noah Worth (Bottle) Millikan, Jr. and her oldest son Randal Noah "Randy" Millikan; sisters: Elizabeth T. Petty and Olga Faye T. Fallenstein; brothers: Robert F. Toomes, Ralph V. Toomes, William Howard (Bud) Toomes and Arnold Jay (Buck) Toomes. She is survived by her sister: Dr. Erma T. Scarlette of Salisbury, NC; daughters: Elizabeth M. McCain and husband David and Catherine M. Strader and husband Gary; son: Rodney D. Millikan and wife Kathy, all of Level Cross; grandchildren: Mark D. McCain and wife Valerie, Scott V. McCain and wife Heather, Allie McCain Rolland and husband Walker, Matthew L. Strader and wife Sara, Travis K. Millikan and wife Miranda, Brandon K. Laughlin and wife Jennifer, and Cody W. Millikan; great grandchildren: Lauren, Claire and Brooke McCain, Michael and Kate McCain, Logan and Aislyn Laughlin, and Emma Millikan. The family will receive friends in the sanctuary of Level Cross United Methodist Church on Monday, February 22, 2016 from 10:30 to 11:00 am. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 am with Pastor Bill Harwell and Pastor Jason Stanley officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Randolph, P.O.
