Gary Sanford Davidson

Gary Sanford Davidson, age 65, of 195 Saint Andrews Drive, Pinehurst died Monday, November 22, 2010 at Central Carolina Hospital, Sanford. Mr. Davidson was a graduate of Asheboro High School and the University of Central Oklahoma. A US Coast Guard Veteran, he retired as a teacher and coach at Smith Junior High and Alexander Graham Middle School in Charlotte. He was active in softball leagues in Charlotte and Pinehurst and recently competed in the Senior Games in Raleigh. Mr. Davidson was a member of St. Andrews United Methodist Church in Charlotte and attended Pinehurst United Methodist Church in Pinehurst. He is survived by his wife: June Davidson and two sons: Mark Davidson of Durham, NC, and Ross and his wife Amanda Davidson of Cary, NC; and his mother Ester Small Davidson of Asheboro. He was preceded in death by his father Charles T. "Charlie" Davidson and his brother Charles Edward Davidson. The funeral will be Friday, November 26th at 11:00 AM at West Bend United Methodist Church, 1080 Albemarle Road, Asheboro with Rev. Drew McIntyre and Rev. David A. Banks officiating. Burial with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall immediately after the services.
