Gary Thomas "Tom" Baldwin, age 53, of Climax died Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at his home.
Mr. Baldwin was a native of Randolph County and was a Eagle Scout of Gray's Chapel, Troop 518. Tom was a graduate of Eastern Randolph High School in 1978, then attended NC State University of Raleigh. He was employed with AT&T and Shipley Associates. Tom was also a member of Raleigh's Saltwater Fishing Club and Randolph Livestock and Poultry Improvement Association. He loved his Hatteras Yacht and fishing was his passion. Tom also was an avid coin collector and enjoyed cooking. I'm sure he will be making "fried apple pies" in heaven now with grandma Helen. Tom is preceded in death by his grandparents, J.D and Helen Cheek and Clarence and Laura Baldwin.
He is survived by his parents, Edward Thomas and Ann Cheek Baldwin; sister: Suzanne Baldwin of Climax; niece, Kaitlyn Marie Cranford and her fiancé Tommy Alford Johnson, Jr.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, June 8, 2013 at 11:00 am at Pugh Funeral Home Chapel, 600 South Main Street, Randleman with Rev. Perry Brown officiating.
Tom's family will receive friends following the service and other times at the home of his parents, Edward and Ann Baldwin, 5027 Mack Lineberry Rd., Climax, NC.
