Mr. Trogdon was born May 2, 1922 the son of Fletcher L. and Maude Jarrell Trogdon.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 10, 2013 from 6-8 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, Randleman. The funeral service will be Friday, January 11, 2013 at 2:00 PM at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel, Randleman with Rev. Mark Jordan officiating. Burial, with military honors, will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery, Asheboro, NC.
Buck was a native of Virginia but was raised in High Point, NC. He served in the US Army Air Corp during WWII as Staff-Sargent in the 8th Air Force stationed in England where he was a crew member on a B-17 on the "Flying Fortress Bomber." He worked for many years delivering laundry for High Point Laundry and retired as a Security Guard from a hospital in Virginia. He was proud to be an American and enjoyed many Saturday nights cuttin' up and cuttin' a rug at the VFW Hut in Randleman. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife: Jerri Hodge; brother: PVT Basil Jett Trogdon; sisters: Marie Bush and Manzeline "Dude" Smith; nephews: Earl Stanley Smith, Jack Sheldon; step-son: Neal Christopher and step-daughter: Jerri Saylor.
He is survived by: daughter and her partner, Michelle Trogdon and Jane Hege of High Point, NC; Former Wife, Mary York of Asheboro, NC; Step Daughter, Carolyn Tayloe of VA; daughter-in-law: Linda Christopher; grandsons: Neal Anthony Christopher; Mark and Tim Tayloe; granddaughter and her husband: Heather and Dray Asbell; great-grandson: Gavin Asbell; nieces and nephews: Danny Smith, Debbie Hill, Steve Hodge, Trudy Jackson, Rodney Trivette, Beth Cecil, Cindy Miller, Mike Hodge, David Hodge,Eddie and Ricky Sheldon, Janice Sheldon-Ritter and a host of friends at the VFW Hut of Randleman.
