Gaither Odus Ward

Gaither Odus Ward, age 81, of Troy died Thursday, July 25, 2013. Odus was born March 7, 1932 at Moore County, NC, the son of George Artemus and Dora Garner Ward. He was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, a US Navy veteran of the Korean War and a former appliance repairman. Odus is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Ina; four sisters: Dorothy Ward, Dora Iva Ward Brown, Alice Ward Moore and Hazel Jeanette Ward; four brothers: Cecil Ward, Maurice Ward, Alva Ward and Clinton Ward. He is survived by his children: Nancy, Bobby, Gary, Michael and Debra; sister: Geneva Ward Hartgrove of Greensboro; seven grandchildren. A graveside service will be Saturday, July 27, 2013 at 2:00 pm at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery, 819 Mt. Carmel Church Road, Troy with Rev. Rodney Holmes officiating.
