Fred Franklin Reece was born on Christmas Eve December 24, 1921. He died Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at his home, 3316 Midway View Dr., Randleman, at the grand ole age of 88.
Mr. Reece was a disabled army veteran who served in World War II in the European Arena. He was retired from Burlington Industries and Deep River Dye Co. and was a member of Midway Wesleyan Church. Mr. Reece loved his family, Church family and his God. Fred is preceded in death by his parents, Mallie Wood Reece Brewer and John Thomas Reece; the love of his life, his wife of 59 years, Myrtle Moore Reece; daughter, Patricia Reece Hackney; sons, John Franklin Reece and Dwain "Tank" Thomas Reece.
He is survived by his daughter: Melody Hancock and her husband, Doug of Randleman, NC; sisters, Faye Farlow and her husband, Norman and Thaney Lamb.
The family will receive friends Friday, February 5, 2010 from 6 to 8 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 South Main Street, Randleman, NC and other times at the home, 3316 Midway View Dr., Randleman. The funeral will be held Saturday, February 6, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Midway Wesleyan Church, 331 Worthville Rd., Randleman with Rev. J. Arnold Luther officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro with Military Honors presented by the Randolph County Honor Guard.
