Frances Allred Jordan, age 96, of Asheboro passed away on Monday, February 6, 2017 at the Randolph Hospice House.
Mrs. Jordan was born in Randolph County on March 10, 1920 to Dennis and Barbara Keeling Allred. She retired from General Electric in 1982 with over 30 years of service. Frances was a member of West Bend United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, Frances was preceded in death by her husband Burness C. Jordan. Frances enjoyed gardening. During WWII, Frances worked on military airplanes in Baltimore-a real Rosie the Riveter.
She is survived by her sons, Harold "Boots" Jordan and wife Jane of Asheboro and Darrell Jordan and wife Annette of Asheboro; daughter, Carol J. Carroll and husband Thomas of Winston-Salem; grandchildren, Dan Jordan and fiancée Lorie Durham of Fuquay-Varina, Christine Mathewson and husband Wayne of Midlothian, VA, and Karen Freeman and husband Mike of Mountain Brook, AL; 7 great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Kanoy, Zackery Freeman, Jacob Freeman, Cassie Cato, Trystan Jordan, USMC, Darrell Jordan, and Zack Sanders, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Friday, February 10, 2017 from 11:30 am-1:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 pm on Friday at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Talmadge Williams officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery.
