Frances Ann Handsel Huffstetler, age 79, of Randleman died Saturday, June 22, 2013 at Randolph Hospice House, Asheboro.
Mrs. Huffstetler was a member of First United Methodist Church and of the Methodist Women's. She sang in the choir for many years. Frances was retired from Laughlin Hoisery Mills as a secretary with 24 years of service. Frances loved gardening, especially her hostas plants. She enjoyed reading particular to the apple of her eye, Kali, and she taught Kali how to color. Frances is preceded in death by her parents: Russell and Lila Handsel;brothers: Jack Taylor Handsel, Richard Carroll Handsel and Harold Handsel; sister Betty Handsel Long.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years: Mr. J. D. Huffstetler of the home; sons: Kelly Huffstetler and his wife Amanda and David Huffstetler; daughter: Ann Huffstetler all of Randleman; granddaughter, Kali Huffstetler of Randleman; brothers: Jim Handsel, and Charlie Handsel and his wife Joyce both of Stanley; sister: Carolyn Fortenberry and her husband Wayne of Nashville, NC.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 26, 2013 from 12:30 - 1:45 pm at First United Methodist Church, 301 S. Main St., Randleman. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm with Dr. Dana Bunn officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro.
