Frances Woodard Goss

Frances Woodard Goss, age 83, formerly of 922 Worth St., Asheboro died Monday, December 19, 2011 at Universal Health Care of Ramseur. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 22, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. John S. Rogers officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery. Mrs. Goss was born in Wilson County, NC on December 26, 1927 to Melvin and Hattie Glover Woodard, who preceded her in death. She was raised in Bailey, NC and was a member of First Baptist Church in Asheboro. Frances was a devoted NC State fan. She is survived by her husband, John D. Goss, sons, John D. Goss, Jr. of Asheboro, NC, Michael Goss and his wife Anne of Shelby, NC, Bob Goss and his wife Tina of Asheboro, NC; daughter, Susan Carringi of Evergreen, CO; 11 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; brothers, Herbert Woodard of Raleigh, NC, Billy Woodard of Wilson, NC, Jimmy Woodard of Chicago, IL, Bobby Woodard of Wake Forest, NC; and sisters, Marjorie Watson of Arizona and Edythe Joyer of Bailey, NC. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 21, 2011 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC and other times at the home of her son, Bob Goss, 107 Shannon Rd., Asheboro. The family would like to express their appreciation to the nurses and staff at Universal Health Care of Ramseur for the excellent care given to Frances.
