Folger Lee Carter

Folger Lee Carter, age 85, of 2012 Walnut St., Asheboro died Monday, October 24, 2011 at GrayBrier Nursing and Retirement Center, Archdale. Mr. Carter was born March 27, 1926 in Stuart, VA the son of late Bobby and Lucy Owens Carter. Folger was the former owner of Carter's Restaurant, Balfour Supermarket, and Folger Carter's Roofing. Mr. Carter attended Liberty Road Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Davis Carter, sister, Shirley Boyd and brother, Bruce Carter. He is survived by two daughters: Susan Jackson of Asheboro, and Martha Jacobs of FL. grandchildren: Belinda Jacobs, Angela Burkholder, Sherri Hames, Shawn Carter and Shannon Mintz; 7 great grandchildren; brothers: Aubrey Carter and his wife Chloe of Randleman, George Carter and his wife Rachel of Staley, Robert Carter and his wife Norma of Randleman, James Carter and his wife Mary of Thomasville; sisters: Alpha Routh of Franklinville, Lucille Stevens and her husband Joe of Randleman, Helen Allred and her husband Jessie of Franklinville; The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 26, 2011 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 South Main Street, Randleman, NC and other times at the home. The funeral will be held Thursday, October 27, 2011 at 2:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home Chapel, 600 South Main Street, Randleman with Rev. Lee Carter officiating.
