Florence LaVerna Davis

Florence LaVerna Bell Davis, "Lucky" age 84, of Randleman died Monday, January 9, 2017 at Randolph Hospice House, Asheboro. Mrs. Davis was born December 22, 1932 the daughter of John and Hilda Bell. She was a native of Lee County. Lucky graduated from Meredith College and Mars Hill College. She proudly served the state of North Carolina public schools in Lee, Chatham and Randolph counties for 37 years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Randleman, where she held positions as Lay Leader and Sunday School teacher. Lucky is preceded in death by her husband, Harold Oetzel Davis. She is survived by her daughters: Bonny Davis Groce of Randleman, Deanne (Dennis) Leigh Fulkerson of Las Vegas, NV and Beth (Barry) Crawford of Beech Mountain, NC, and one son: John (JoJo) Davis of Nashville, TN.; grandchildren: Savanna Newcomb,, Jamie George, and Annie Davis; and 1 great grand daughter on the way. A memorial service will be held Friday, January 13, 2017 at 2:00 pm at First United Methodist Church, 301 S. Main St., Randleman with Rev. Jenna Grogan officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, 301 S. Main St., Randleman, NC 27317 or any organization that helps the children or elderly. Pugh Funeral Home, Randleman is serving the Davis family.
