Flona Mae Luck Johnston, age 89, of Asheboro passed away peacefully Saturday, February 2, 2019 at her home surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Johnston was born May 23, 1929 the daughter of Gillis and Viola Luther Luck.
Mrs. Johnston was a native of Asheboro and formerly worked for Tie Rite, Stedman's and retired from Walker Shoe Company. Flona was a lifetime member of Spoon's Chapel Christian Church, where she was a faithful servant of the Lord. She touched many lives with her special cooking and willingness to do anything she could to help others.
In addition to her parents; Flona was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Ottis Eugene Johnston in 1997, brother, Floyd Luck, sisters, Irene Poole and Christine Kidd.
She is survived by her daughter: Linda Johnston Kivett and her husband, George "Jackie" Kivett; her son: Darrell Eugene Johnston and his wife, Debbie Johnston all of Asheboro; three grandchildren: Tonyia Kivett Johnson and husband, Joe of Franklinville, Christopher Darrell Johnston and fiancée, Jessica of Asheboro and Michael Shaun Johnston of Franklinville; five great grandchildren: Joseph Houston Johnson, Kerry Clayton Johnson and Jessie Grayson Johnson all of Franklinville, Christopher Ethan Johnston of Asheboro, and Morgan Elizabeth Johnston of Franklinville; sister: Geneva Luck Goins and husband, Edgar; sister in law: Margie Luck and brother in law: Jim Johnston and wife, Shelby all of Asheboro.
The family will receive friends Monday, February 4, 2019 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC and other times at her home.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at 3:00 pm at Spoons Chapel Christian Church, 1838 Spoons Chapel Rd., Asheboro with Rev. Isaac Fetterhoff and Rev. John Auler officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.
