Faye Haywood Batten

Faye Haywood Batten, age 91, of Carrington Place, Matthews, NC, formerly of 1327 Capelsie Rd., Candor, NC, died Thursday, August 27, 2009 at Carrington Place.Mrs. Batten was born June 25, 1918 in Montgomery County, NC, the daughter of Samuel Cleveland and Dora (Green) Haywood. She was a member of Laurel Hill Baptist Church and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Batten.She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Peggy B. Cain and husband, Jim of Charlotte; one grandson, Scott Cain and one great-granddaughter, Emma Cain, both of Charlotte.The family will receive friends Saturday from 1-2 pm at Laurel Hill Baptist Church, 1569 Troy-Candor Rd., Candor, NC. The funeral will be Saturday at 2:00 pm at Laurel Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Hittepole and Rev. Michael Light officiating.
