Evelyn Grimes Day

Evelyn Grimes Day, age 85, of 1306 Old Cox Road, Asheboro died Saturday, January 2, 2010 at Clapp's Nursing Center, Inc., Pleasant Garden. Mrs. Day was born August 4, 1924 the daughter of Doyle and Aimee Payne Grimes. Evelyn was a native of Houston, TX and a homemaker. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Asheboro and enjoyed bowling and playing bridge. She is survived by one daughter: Jo Lynn Hilliard of Climax, NC and one son: Barry G. Day of Kernersville, NC; granddaughter, Michelle Hilliard of Morganton, NC; granddaughter, Dr. Amanda N. Hilliard-Ziemba of High Point, NC; grandson, Seth P. Day of Kernersville, NC; and great granddaughter, Campbell Reese Ziemba. The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 5, 2010 from 7:00 - 9:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC and other times at the home of her daughter, 2107 Forest Haven Drive Climax, NC. The funeral will be Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at 3:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home Chapel, Asheboro with Dr. John S. Rogers officiating. Burial will follow in Grays Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery, Franklinville.
