Evelyn Carlton Culnon, age 94, of Asheboro died, Friday, May 29, 2015 at North Pointe Assisted Living of Asheboro. Mrs. Culnon was born March 17, 1921 in Anniston, Alabama to W. D. and Mary Carlton. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Culnon was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Culnon, brothers, Richard, Robert and Wallace Carlton and sisters, Christine Payton and Carolyn Newby. She is survived by her sons, William Michael Culnon and wife Carol of Johnston City, TN, Steven Roy Culnon and wife Cheryl of Las Vegas, NV; daughter, Patricia Culnon Via and husband Tim of Hardy, VA; grandchildren, Ryan Culnon and wife Rae of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Natalie Shaver and husband Matt of Concord; great grandchildren, Matthew and Madison Culnon, Landon Shaver; sisters, Joan Kemp and husband Richard of Asheboro, Mae Grissom of Nashville, TN. The family will receive friends Tuesday, June 2, 2015, from Noon – 1:45 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Ave. Asheboro, NC. The Funeral Service will follow in the funeral home chapel, at 2:00 PM with Rev. Lynda Ferguson officiating. Burial will be at Randolph Memorial Park.
