Evelyn Rich Barker

Evelyn Rich Barker, age 82, formerly of 4233 Old High Point St., Randleman died Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at GrayBrier Nursing and Retirement Center, Trinity. Mrs. Barker was born August 31, 1926 the daughter of Glenn and Annie Mae (Jarrell) Rich. Mrs. Barker was a native of Randolph County. She worked at Commonwealth Hosiery Mill and retired from Crawford Knitting. Mrs. Barker is preceded in death by her husband Johnson Barker. She is survived by two daughters: Linda McDowell of Randleman, NC, Wanda Underwood of Thomasville, NC and one son: Robert Rich Barker of Randleman, NC; one brother: Leon Rich of Asheboro, NC; 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Thursday, January 1, 2008 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 South Main Street, Randleman, NC. The funeral will be Friday at 2:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home Chapel, Randleman with Rev. Tim Fonner officiating. Burial will follow in Marlboro Friends Meeting Cemetery, Sophia.
