Eva Davis Williams

Mrs. Eva Davis Williams of Worth Street passed away Sunday, October 20, 2019 at Hospice House of Randolph County surrounded by her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Claudie Elbert Davis and Mrs. Daisy Green Davis and also a brother, Clarence Davis, all of Seagrove.

Mrs. Williams was a loyal and faithful friend, a caring and responsible mother, and a loving grandmother.

She is survived by one daughter Joyce Williams Gray and husband Ken, one granddaughter Kendra Gray Martin and husband James, two brothers (Marvin and JT) and two sisters (Vivian and Shirley).

Mrs. Williams loved the Lord and believed in the Bible. She was an avid reader of all genres, often reading thirteen to fifteen books from the Randolph County Public Library in a three-week period of time. She loved circus peanuts, and enjoyed flowers, birds, dogs, walking, and working in her yard.

Mrs. Williams had a strong work ethic and was seldom ever absent from work. Her favorite quote was "a willful waste makes a woeful want." She originally worked for Cetwick in the forties, later for Charmeuse Hosiery in the fifties and sixties, and finally completed her working career with Sapona in 1995 at the age of seventy. After retirement, she volunteered briefly with the Adult Day Care Center and with the Salvation Army. Mrs. Williams was a believer in education. She was a graduate of Seagrove High School and a member of the Beta Club.

Pugh Funeral Home of Asheboro is assisting the family. The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 24, 2019 from 4:00-5:30 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue in Asheboro. The service, conducted by Rev. Gene Davis will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, October 25, 2019 at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Union Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
