Eula Mae Burke

Eula Mae Young Burke, age 83, of 1036 Avondale Ave., Asheboro died Friday, December 11, 2009 at her residence. Mrs. Burke was born September 7, 1926 in Mebane, NC, the daughter of Clarence G. and the Mary Alice (Ray) Young and was a member of First United Methodist Church in Asheboro. She formerly taught at Asheboro Commercial College and Randolph Community College. She was retired from Wachovia Bank and the widow of Frank Bradie Burke. She is survived by her daughters: Linda B. Hinson of Gastonia, NC and Dr. Diana B. Collins of Greensboro, NC; sons: Thomas B. Burke of Goldsboro, NC and Dr. Jerry W. Burke of Salisbury, NC; 10 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; sister: Elizabeth Y. Nicholson of Mebane, NC; brother: C M Young of Asheboro, NC. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, December 14, 2009 at 3:00 PM at First United Methodist Church, 224 North Fayetteville Street, Asheboro, NC with Rev. Michael Holder officiating.
