In Loving Memory of Eula Craven Brown, age 93, formerly of Asheboro passed away Saturday, January 21, 2012 in Charlotte, NC.
In celebration, we remember Eula's unique and beautiful spirit. In our laughter and smiles, she is with us always.
Eula Brown, a loving wife and mother, was committed to her family and community. Eula, daughter of Walter and Blonde Craven, was part of the fourth generation of Cravens to be born in Richmond County. She grew up in Ellerbe, N.C., and lived most of her life in Asheboro, N.C. She was married to JR Clifton Brown for 66 years. Dedicated to Central United Methodist Church; she devoted a lifetime of service to the church. An avid gardener, seamstress, and cook, Eula was a loving homemaker for her family. She was famous for her food baskets and homemade bread deliveries to shut-ins.
Eula's great capacity for kindness and commitment to family was evident in all that she did. Her life was a testament to her Christian faith. We will miss her greatly.
Eula is survived by her sisters: Alma Ligon, Grace Robbinson, Fay McIntosh, Carol Fritz, and Betsy Brewer. Her loving descendants include three children: Annie Brown Venner, Susan Brown Cosand and David Randolph Brown; four grandchildren: Brian Tolleson, Amanda Tolleson, Jonathan Dry and David Dry; four great-grandchildren: Colby Dry, Max Dry, Ella Tolleson and Emilie Tolleson.
The family will receive friends Sunday, January 22, 2012 from 2:00- 3:00 PM followed by the funeral service at 3:00 PM in the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel, 437 Sunset Aveune, Asheboro, NC with Rev. Mark Key officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Eula Craven Brown to the Central United Methodist Church Building Fund, 300 S Main St, Asheboro, N.C.
