ASHEBORO--Eugene Clyatt Hurley, age 80, of 618 Mack Rd., Asheboro died Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at Randolph Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, May 6, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. at Brower's Memorial Wesleyan Church, 1734 Mack Rd., Asheboro with Dr. Edward E. Lindsey and Pastor Boyd Byerly officiating. Burial will follow in Randolph Memorial Park with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard. Mr. Hurley was born in Randolph County on May 26, 1931 to Randle Marten and Martha Honney Hurley. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Eugene was a member of Brower's Memorial Wesleyan Church, where he was a member of the choir, a board member and was former CYC director. He was formerly employed with Bossong Hosiery and was the retired owner/operator of Mid-State Repair Shop. In addition to his parents, Eugene was preceded in death by his brothers Ted Honney, Arthur J. Hurley and J.T. Hurley, sisters Melvia R. Hurley, Kathleen Beane, and Onnie Callicutt. He is survived by his wife, Clarice McNeill Hurley; son, Ronnie Eugene Hurley and his wife Stephanie of Asheboro; grandchildren, Adam Hurley, Noah Hurley and his wife Ashley; and Caleb Hurley all of Asheboro; brothers, David Hurley of Asheboro, Dempsey Hurley of Wilmington; sisters, Gladys Ruth Scott, Maxilee Callicutt, and Doris Shaw all of Asheboro. The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 5, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Randolph, P.O.
