Etta Mae Allred Moore, age 93, of Asheboro died Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at Randolph Hospital.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Michael Davis officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park.
Mrs. Moore was born in Asheboro on July 21, 1920 to Charles and Lillie McPherson Allred. She was formerly employed with Asheboro Hosiery and Rampon Products. Etta was a charter member of Ward Street Baptist Church and Fayetteville Street Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Etta was preceded in death by her son J.T. Moore, husband James Edgar Moore, brother Ervin Allred, and sisters Mary Lois Moore and Ruby Alice Presnell. Etta enjoyed following Cincinnati Reds baseball, cooking, and flower gardening.
She is survived by her sons, Charles Moore and his friend Beulah Lucas of Asheboro, Gurney Moore of Asheboro; grandchildren, Michelle Miller and her husband Bill of Florida, Scottie Thomas and his wife Beverly of Asheboro; great grandchildren, Brittany Boneham, Zachary Boneham, Joshua Thomas, and Crystal Thomas; sister, Maxine Canipe of Asheboro; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Friday, November 29, 2013 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro.
