Ethel James Williams, age 85, of 609 Salem Ridge Dr., Randleman died Monday, January 14, 2013 at Woodland Hill Care & Rehabilitation in Asheboro. The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 19, 2013 from 12:00-2:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. Funeral services will follow on Saturday at 2:00 pm at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel, 437 Sunset Avenue with Rev. Maxton Craven officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery. Mrs. Williams was born in Taylorsville, NC on April 30, 1927 to Bynum and Addie Mitchell James. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, Ethel was preceded in death by her husband Willie Duckery Williams, Jr., son Donald Williams, sisters Nell Davis, Pauline Harrington, Marie Scott, Ruby Adams, and Mozelle Daniels, and brothers Ned James, Lee James, and Fred James. Ethel was a firecracker and good cook. She is survived by her daughters, Kathy Jarrell of Asheboro, Kim Scott of Randleman, Diane Carpenter of Sophia, Brenda Brady of Randleman, Yvonne Wilkerson of Asheboro, Connie Loflin of Denton, Tonya Pollard of Asheboro; sons, Jimmy Ray Williams of Asheboro, Michael Williams of Denton; sister, Shirley Yow of Seagrove;19 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Association, Western Carolina Chapter, 3800 Shamrock Drive, Charlotte, NC 28215-3220.
