Ethel Small Parrish

Ethel Small Parrish, age 90, of Trinity died Thursday, April 14, 2011 at the Randolph Hospice House. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, April 17, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. at Pierce's Chapel Primitive Baptist Church, Ross Wood Rd., Trinity with Elder Ted Morton and Elder J.R. Gardner officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Parrish was a native of Randolph County and was a member of Pierce's Chapel Primitive Baptist Church. She was formerly employed in the hosiery industry and in her later years she worked in Randolph County Schools cafeterias. Ethel was preceded in death by her husband, Roy E. Parrish and her son-in-law, Harold Shaw. She is survived by her daughters, Joann Shaw of Asheboro, NC, Lorraine Smith and her husband Lewis of Trinity, NC; son, Ron Parrish and his wife Julie Hopkins Parrish of Asheboro, NC; grandchildren, David Shaw and his wife Donna of Denton, NC, Terry Shaw and his wife Nielda of Atlanta, GA, Farrell Smith and his wife Becky of Sophia, NC, Steve Smith and his wife Tammy of Archdale, NC, Seth Parrish of Asheboro, NC; 12 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; and sisters, Ruth Surratt of Trinity, NC and Lois Jordan of Greensboro, NC. The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 16, 2011 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC and on Sunday following the funeral service at her home.
