Ethel Owens

Ethel "Dink" Dunlap Owens, age 76, of 2491 Mamie May Rd., Franklinville died Thursday, February 2, 2012 at Randolph Hospital. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. at Worthville Baptist Church with Rev. Junior Dawkins officiating. The family will receive friends at the home of Rhonda and Greg Walker, 621 Cascade Rd., Asheboro. Mrs. Owens was born in Seagrove, NC on March 13, 1935 to Willie Albert and Minnie Comer Dunlap. She was a member of Worthville Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Dink was preceded in death by her husband James Ray Owens. Dink enjoyed cooking, gardening, and enjoyed spending time with her children and their families. She is survived by her son, Michael A. Owens and his wife Carolyn of Franklinville, NC; daughter, Robin D. Flynt and her husband Robbie of Wilmington, NC; daughter, Rhonda Walker and her husband Greg of Asheboro, NC; daughter, Regina O. Hicks and her husband Matt of Wilmington, NC; son, Terry Owens and his fiance Delinda Brown of Asheboro, NC; grandchildren, Christina Powell, Shannon Letterlough, Yauna Owens, Brooke Arnold, Brittany Hicks, Haleigh Watts, Haylee Flynt, Megan Owens, Emma Grace Owens, Elizabeth Alderman, Justin Brown, Scotty Cooke, Bob Cooke, and Terry Cooke; and 6 great grandchildren; sisters, Ruth Hussey of Seagrove, NC and Carolyn Kern of Star, NC. Memorials may be made to Worthville Baptist Church, 1053 Castle Rock Road, Randleman, NC 27317. Pugh Funeral Home in Asheboro is in charge of arrangements.
