Esther Hoover Shortsleeve

Esther Hoover Shortsleeve, age 86, of Asheboro, died Saturday, May 29, 2010 at Cross Road Retirement Community, Asheboro. Funeral services will be held Monday, May 31, 2010 at 2:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Danny Jarrell officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park. Mrs. Shortsleeve was a native of Randolph County, was retired from Richard Grey Hosiery and worked in housekeeping at Cross Road Retirement Community for several years. She was a member of Sawyersville Wesleyan Church and attended New Union Methodist Church. Mrs. Shortsleeve was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Jack Lee Shortsleeve. She is survived by daughters, Susan S. Hill and her husband Kenneth of Asheboro, Brenda Bumgarner and husband Don of Asheboro; grandchildren, Kennan Hill and his wife Danielle Hill of Asheboro, Kevin Hill and his wife Carla of Asheboro, Holly Cogan and her husband Chris of Archdale, Bryan Bumgarner and his wife Bonnie of Asheboro, Matthew Bumgarner of Asheboro, Stacey Hodge and her husband William of Asheboro, Jaclyn Bumgarner of Asheboro; great grandchildren, Haedyn Hill, Kenzie Hill, Hunter Hill, Keaton Hill, Devyn Cogan, Riley Cogan, Luke Bumgarner, Logan Hodge, Liza Hodge, Drew Hodge, Laura Hodge, Carrie Hodge, Brook Hodge; sisters, Wilma Patterson and her husband Roger of Asheboro, Bevilee Gallimore of Archdale, Stella Murray of Greensboro, Clara Smith and her husband Marshall of Denton. The family will receive friends Monday, May 31, 2010 from 12 noon - 2:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC and other times at the home of Susan Hill, 1025 Cable Creek Rd., Asheboro.
