Esther Phillips Craven

Esther Phillips Craven, age 88, of Asheboro died Saturday, October 12, 2019 at Alpine Heath & Rehabilitation, Asheboro.

Mrs. Craven was born August 14, 1931 the daughter of Paul Phillips and Dannie Ritter Phillips.

Mrs. Craven was a native of Moore County, a homemaker and member of Greystone Baptist Church in Asheboro. She was an excellent cook specializing in desserts and a loving Christian Mother who was a friend to all. Esther enjoyed working in her flowers and being outdoors. In addition to her parents, Esther was preceded in death by her husband: Allen Craven; two daughters: Martha JoAnn Craven and Kathy Craven; brother: Randall Phillips; sisters: Carrie Brewer, Naomi Andrews, Dorcas Key and Myrl Brewer. 

She is survived by one daughter: Fonda Craven of Asheboro; sister: Pauline Maness of Greensboro and many nieces and nephews and extended family.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 15, 2019 from 12:00-1:45 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC, followed by the funeral service at 2:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Howard Moffitt officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro.
