Esther Parrish Cox, age 80, of Asheboro died Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at Randolph Health & Rehabilitation.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Oaklawn Cemetery with Chaplain Wayne Ratcliffe officiating.
Mrs. Cox was born in the Farmer Community on December 31, 1934 to Carr and Mary Miller Parrish. She was retired, after 43 years of service, from Galey & Lord as the Assistant Human Resources Manager. In addition to her parents, Esther was preceded in death by her daughter, Beverly Chriscoe; 2 sisters and 4 brothers. Esther and her husband Robert were lifetime members of The Family Campers and RV'ers Association. Esther was an excellent seamstress as well as a gentle, caring, loving, and giving lady who enjoyed serving others.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Cox; daughters, Belinda Cox and husband Jeff of Asheboro, Robin Garner and husband Mike of Scottsdale, AZ; grandchildren, Kimberly Lewis and husband Josh, Kelly Roberts and husband Travis, and Derrick Cox all of Asheboro; great granddaughters, MaryKatherine Roberts and Madeline Lewis; sister, Hilda Robbins and husband Jerry of Asheboro; brothers, L.C. Parrish and wife Noreen of Asheboro, and Max Parrish and wife Jane of Seagrove.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro.
