Ervin Scott Lineberry, age 91, of Asheboro died Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at Randolph Hospice House.
Mr. Lineberry was born October 27, 1926, the son of Hobart and Hilda Lineberry. He was a graduate of Gray's Chapel High School and attended Pfeifer College. Mr. Lineberry served in the Marine Corps during World War II. Ervin had a love of flying, had worked for Eastern Airlines and had his private pilot license. He was office manager at Russell Hosiery Mills for over 20 years Ervin was with IBM in the early years and later started his own computer consulting business. He also served as an officer with the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary from 1986-1988. In addition to his parents, Mr. Lineberry was preceded in death by his sister, Alese.
He is survived by his wife Edna Lineberry of the home; daughter, Gloria Hanson of Wilmington, Cheryl (Julian) McIntosh of Asheboro, Melinda (Neill) Hyde of Asheboro; grandson, Jason Hanson of Wilmington; step-son, Marcus Rich of Wilmington; sister, Mary Ellen Lineberry of Gray's Chapel.
A graveside memorial service with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard will be held Friday, November 17, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Oaklawn Cemetery, 737 Albemarle Road, Asheboro with Rev. Joey Miller officiating.
Memorials may be made to Randolph Hospice House, 416 Vision Dr., Asheboro, NC 27203.
