Emory Ray "Abner" Hinshaw, age 78, of Climax died Friday, January 1, 2016 at Randolph Hospital in Asheboro. Mr. Hinshaw was born January 28, 1937 the son of Joseph Hubert and Amanda Ethel Hancock Hinshaw.
Mr. Hinshaw was a native of Randolph County,1955 graduate of Randleman High School and was a retired truck driver. In addition to his parents Abner is preceded in death by his twin sister, Faye Coltrane and brother, Claude Hinshaw.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years: Patty W. Hinshaw, daughter: Janet Lynn Hogan and husband Kent of King; sons: CR Hinshaw and wife Linitta of Franklinville, Tommy Hinshaw and wife Debra of Climax and Jeff Hinshaw of Climax; grandchildren: Shannon Ridge and husband Leroy, Joseph Hinshaw and wife Amanda, Heather Williams and husband Josh, Amber O'Brien and husband Jonathan, Alisha Hurley and husband Stephen, Gage Hogan and wife Ashley, Kody, Jacob and Shana Hogan; 10 great grandchildren; sister: Laura Frye of Climax.
The family will receive friends on Monday, January 4, 2016 from 6 to 8 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 South Main Street in Randleman. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at 1:00 PM at the Pugh Funeral Home chapel, 600 South Main Street in Randleman with Rev. John Harmon officiating.
Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park in Asheboro.
