Emmett Lee Rich, age 85, of 1507 Cedar Grove Dr. Ext., Asheboro died Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at Randolph Hospital, Asheboro.Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2009 at 2:00 PM at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Wayne Eller officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery.Mr. Rich was a native of Randolph County and was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII. He was a charter member of Whispering Pines Presbyterian Church and was retired from Burlington Mills in Denton. He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Emmett Rich. Emmett enjoyed building and repairing clocks.He is survived by his wife, Myra Miller Rich; daughter, Myressa Rich of Franklinville, NC; grandchildren, Justin Loflin, Jessica Loflin, and Dylan Hyler; 6 great grandchildren; nephew, Nathan Rich of Reidsville, NC.The family will receive friends on Friday, September 11, 2009 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC and other times at his home.
