Emma Exnia King Spencer, age 88, of 229 Charles Ave., Asheboro died Sunday, August 9, 2009 at Randolph Hospital, Asheboro.Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at 3:00 PM at Maple Springs Baptist Church, 6012 Maple Springs Rd., Seagrove with Rev. Howard McNeill officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.Mrs. Spencer was a native of Randolph County, was a member of Maple Springs Baptist Church, and was a homemaker for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband Taft Spencer. Emma enjoyed working in her garden and loved the beauty of her flowers.She is survived by her step son, Bruce Spencer and his wife Ann of Asheboro, NC; step daughters, Perlie Robbins of Asheboro, NC, May Anderson of Asheboro, NC, Shirley Stutts of Asheboro, NC, Joann Fry of Randleman, NC, Frances Lambert of Randleman, NC; nieces, Lois Garner and her son Steve of Asheboro, NC, Doris Craven of Seagrove, NC; nephews, Charles King of Seagrove, NC, and Joe King of Seagrove, NC.The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 11, 2009 from 7:00 - 9:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC.
