Emma Jewel Voncannon Moffitt

Emma Jewel Voncannon Moffitt, age 81, of Asheboro died Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at her home. Mrs. Moffitt was born in Randolph County on June 23, 1933 to Nixon and Jellycee Hamilton Voncannon. Emma was retired from GE and Black Decker and was formerly employed as an in home nurse for Randolph Home Care. She was a member of High Pine Wesleyan Church. Emma loved tending to her flowers and vegetable garden. In addition to her parents, Emma was preceded in death by her siblings J.C. Voncannon and Bertha Clark. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Joe Moffitt of Asheboro; son, Joey Moffitt of Asheboro; grandson, Trey Moffitt of Asheboro; granddaughter, Rachel Stevens of Bennett; great granddaughter, Serinity Stevens; and sister, Mozelle Price of Asheboro. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at 11:00 am at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro with Pastor Wyatt Hoogkamp officiating.
