Emil G. Nichols

Emil G. Nichols, age 93, of 450 Mountain Top Dr., Asheboro died Friday, March 27, 2009 at Randolph Hospital, Asheboro.A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 2, 2009 at 11:00 AM at the First Presbyterian Church, 420 West Walker Ave., Asheboro with Rev. Connie Weaver officiating.Mr. Nichols was born in Turkey. He was a U.S. Naval officer during World War II. Emil received his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Newark College of Engineering. He was preceded in death by his brother, Arthur Nichols. Emil enjoyed constructing clocks, woodworking, and in his later years reading. He is survived by his wife, Mable Nichols of the home; daughter, Judith Renzulli and her husband Curtis Reitz; son, Robert Nichols and his wife Donna Nichols; daughter, Barbara Smith and her husband Gary Smith; grandchildren, Amy Renzulli, Beth Renzulli, Sara Renzulli, Eric Smith, Nancy Smith, and 7 great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Christian's United Outreach Center (CUOC), P.O. Box 784, Asheboro, NC 27204 or to the charity of the donor's choice.
