Eloise Bailey Dawkins

Eloise Bailey Dawkins, age 89, of 138 Azelea Lane, Candor died Monday, July 11, 2011 at ManorCare Health Services, Pinehurst. Mrs. Dawkins was born June 20, 1922 in Bladen County, NC, the daughter of James A and Dora Lewis Bailey. She was a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Emma J. French. She is survived by her husband of 70 years, James J Dawkins of the home; one daughter: Peggy Carraher of Las Vegas, NV; one sister: Thelma Spell of Thomasville; 7 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6-8 pm at Pugh-Troy Funeral Home, 211 North Main Street, Troy; other times at the home. The funeral will be Wednesday at 11:00 am at Pugh-Troy Funeral Home, 211 North Main Street, Troy with Chaplin Ken Rahal officiating. Burial will be in Stanly Gardens of Memory, Albemarle.
