Elma Greene Miller

Elma Greene Miller of Troy, age 95, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on April 1, 2013. She was the daughter of the late Victor A. Greene and Matilda Parnell Greene. She married Reggie D. Miller in July, 1937. Her husband passed away on February 28, 2002. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her son: Reggie Miller, Jr., sisters: Ida Williams, Sadie McIntyre, Nellie McIntyre, all of Troy; brothers: Andrew Greene, Leonard Greene and Arthur Greene, all of Troy. Elma loved and was faithful to her church family, First Wesleyan Church of Troy for over 70 years. She is survived by her daughter, Gwendolyn Miller Brock and husband, Walter of Troy and daughter-in-law, Jean Miller Usher of Lyons, Georgia. She is also survived by a sister, Dortha Greene Cave of Troy, a brother, V.A. Greene and wife, Edna of Mt. Gilead, a sister-in-law, Ruth Greene of Troy. She is survived by six grandchildren: Karyn Wuest Colella and husband, Jeffrey of Chandler, AZ, Bryan Wuest and wife, Linda of Afghanistan and Greer, SC, Colleen Wuest Dixon and husband, Mike of Harrisonburg, VA, Scott Wuest and wife, Debbie of Findlay, OH, Shannon Miller Lee and husband, David of Vidalia, GA, and Sean Miller and wife, Melissa of Reidsville, GA. There are 14 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Friday, April 5, 2013 from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm at First Wesleyan Church of Troy, 1368 NC Hwy 134N, Troy. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm immediately following the visitation with Rev. Brian Wardlaw officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be sent to Hospice of Stanly County, 960 N. First Street, Albemarle, NC 28001 or to First Wesleyan Church, 1368 NC Hwy 134 N, Troy, NC 27371.
