Ella Mae Cooper

Ella Mae Routh Cooper, age 96, of Asheboro died Sunday, July 24, 2011 at Randolph Health & Rehabilitation in Asheboro. Mrs. Cooper was born November 25, 1914 in Randolph County, NC, the daughter of the late Malcolm Monroe and the late Rosa (Lamb) Routh. Mrs. Cooper was retired from Nantucket Hosiery Mill and was a member of New Union United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Harry Preston Cooper, brothers, Marvin "Doc" and Baxter Routh, and her daughter in law, Phyllis Howell Cooper. She was the last of eleven children. She is survived by her son & daughter in law, Darrell L. & Virginia Cooper of Asheboro, NC; son, Harry M. Cooper of Asheboro, NC; 8 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 8 Great Great Grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, July 28, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel, 437 Sunset Ave., Asheboro, NC 27203 with Rev. Drew McIntyre officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 9:30-10:30 AM at Pugh Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Randolph County, P.O.
