Elizabeth Smith Woodley, age 96, of Asheboro died Sunday, November 13, 2016 at Randolph Hospice House.
Mrs. Woodley was born September 17, 1920 in Rowan County to Clarence and Helen Smith.
She was a graduate of Gastonia High School and a member of First United Methodist Church. Mrs. Woodley was formerly employed with Tobias Ladies clothing and was a substitute teacher for Asheboro City and Randolph County Schools. During her spare time, Elizabeth loved working in her flowers. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Woodley was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Woodley.
She is survived by her son, Ron Woodley and his friend, Rebecca Wright of Asheboro and Elizabeth's special friend, Peggy Woodruff of Asheboro.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, November 16, 2016 from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM in the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. George W. Roberson and Rev. Lynda Ferguson officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery.
