Elise Koth Brenner, age 94, of 922 S. Church St., Asheboro died Friday, December 4, 2009 at Woodland Hill Care & Rehabilitation, Asheboro.
Mrs. Brenner was born July 23, 1915 the daughter of Charles F. and Effie Trudo Bishop Koth.
Elise was a devoted wife and homemaker. She was active with her children, serving as a den mother, Girl Scout leader and participating in PTA. She learned to cook at an early age and enjoyed it her whole life; much to the joy of her entire family. She grew up in the low country of South Carolina and retained her love of fishing and gardening throughout her life. She was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church, Asheboro where she participated in various activities. She had a large family and enjoyed watching her nieces and nephews grow. She was married for 58 years and cared for her husband, Harold P. Brenner, until his death. She left us all with a terrific work ethic and many fond memories to cherish forever. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son: James H. Brenner.
She is survived by: daughter: Nancy F. Brenner of Asheboro, NC Son and his wife, David C. and Martha Brenner of Charlotte, NC; grandson and his wife, Dr. Mark Brenner and Dr. Stephanie Luce of New York, NY; granddaughter and her husband, Susan and Cliff Ferrell of Wilmington, NC; great grandson, Henry Ferrell; great granddaughter, Martha Kate Ferrell; sisters: Mable Tamsberg of Georgetown, SC, Lucile Thomas of Gaithersburg, MD, Lois Carscallen of Sand Point, ID and one brother: Charlie B Koth of Sylvania, GA
The family will receive friends Tuesday December 8, 2009 from 10:00-11:00 AM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. The funeral will follow at 11:00 AM in the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. John S. Rogers officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro.
