Elgie Maie Ritch Johnson James, 91, passed away peacefully at Randolph Hospice House on July 8.
A resident of Asheboro, she retired from the textile industry. She was a charter member of Fayetteville Street Baptist Church. She loved bus trips and cruising with her daughter.
She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Johnson Allen (Charles) of Franklinville; brother, Earl Lee Ritch of Asheboro; sister-in-law, Margie Lawson Ritch of Asheboro; grandchildren, Lee Allen (Mary Burt) of New London, Todd Allen of Randleman, and Amber Allen Bruner (David) of Cary; niece/adopted granddaughter, Tandy Hoover Greene (Tim) of Asheboro; great grandchildren, Joseph Bruner, Emily Bruner, Dexter Allen, Meredith Allen, Jacob Bruner, Sarah Allen, and Jackson Allen; and 1 great great grandson.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2019 from 12:00-1:45 pm at Balfour Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow on Thursday at 2:00 pm at Balfour Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Mason officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery.
