Elbert Pressley Haywood

Elbert Pressley Haywood, age 79, of 198 Oakhills Drive, Troy died Thursday, September 15, 2011 at FirstHealth Montgomery Memorial Hospital, Troy. Mr. Haywood was born October 27, 1931 in Montgomery County, the son of Daniel Pressley and Addie Greene Haywood. He was a member of Wadeville Baptist Church and a self- employed general contractor. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife: Iris Parnell Haywood of the home; two sons: Tony Filmore Haywood of Rolesville, Jeffrey Pressley Haywood of Asheboro; 4 grandchildren. The family will receive friends Saturday from 6-8 pm at Pugh-Troy Funeral Home, 211 North Main Street, Troy; other time at the home. The funeral will be Sunday at 2:00 pm at Wadeville Baptist Church, 144 Shoe Factory Road, Mt. Gilead with Rev. Jim Hunsucker officiating.
