Edward Vance Voncannon, age 56, of Liberty died Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at his home. Mr. Voncannon was born September 23, 1958 in Asheboro, NC the son of Bobby Lee and Ella Shehan Voncannon. Mr. Voncannon was a native of Randolph County and a member of Seagrove United Methodist Church. He was a veteran of the US Army and retired from Nortel Networks of Research Triangle Park in Raleigh after 27 years of service. Edward was owner/operator of Pottery Junction of Seagrove and very active in his community, creator of The Centennial 100th Anniversary Celebration of Seagrove. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Sammy Voncannon. He is survived by his wife of 35 years: Regina Gray Voncannon, sister: Anna King of Seagrove, and brother: Darrell Voncannon of Seagrove. The family will receive friends Saturday, February 28, 2015 from 6-8 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Ave., Asheboro. The funeral service will be at 3:00 PM Sunday, March 1, 2015 at Seagrove United Methodist Church, 225 W. Main St., Seagrove with the Rev. Bob Dowling officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to Seagrove United Methodist Church, Lawn Maintenance, 225 W. Main St., Seagrove, NC 27341.
